FAQ
1. What is the booking procedure?
The booking procedure is very simple. Send us your request to check the availability of boat you prefer, including as many information as possible (dates, number of persons, special requests...). If you are not sure about the boat type, you can either send us an email to ask for help with the boat selection or simply fill in the booking form to get more information. We shall provide all the necessary information regarding your charter; boat details, prices, charter conditions, payment methods...Note that it is not possible to hold an option for the last minute booking. A 50% of down payment is required once you confirm the charter and the balance payment is due at the latest 4 weeks prior to the charter date.
2. What qualifications do I need to charter a boat?
Note that a bareboat charter requires a valid nautical certificate of competence and VHF certificate (you need to be qualified to operate a VHF station as well). You can send us the copy of your certificate to check its validity with the Croatian Port Authorities.
3. When do I need to hire a skipper?
Skipper is obligatory if Charterer does not have a valid nautical certificate. We also recommend a service of a professional skipper for the less experienced group, even if in possession of the certificate. Skippers are able to advise you on places to visit, ports and marinas, good restaurants...and are responsible for the safety on board. There is an extra charge for skipper service plus food and drinks.
4. What does the charter fee include?
The charter fee includes the charter of the boat, kitchen utensils, bedlinen, safety equipment, tender. The Charterer will be charged extra for all other expenses (fuel, port and marina dues, additional equipment, outboarder, spinnaker, food and drinks, crew. transfer...), if not indicated differently in our offer.
5. Check-in and check-out time?
All prices refer to a week charter, therefore the boat charter starts from 5 pm on Saturdays and ends by 9 am on Saturdays (preferably by 6 pm on Fridays, depending on weather conditions). You are free to make your own itinerary, however, we can suggest some interesting routes and places to visit.
6. What does the insurance cover?
The insurance is determined by the conditions defined by the insurance company where boats are insured. Damages covered by insurance have to be immediately reported, otherwise, the Charterer can be fully charged for damages, if not reported on time, or with delay. Engine and sails are not covered by the insurance, therefore if any damage occurs, Charterer will be charged for the expenses. Personal belongings of Charterer and the crew are ot covered by the insurance.
7. Do I need to leave a security deposit at the time of check-in?
The safety deposit is required at the time of your arrival to the marina. It is completely refundable on the day of your departure when the boat is checked and found in perfect condition.
8. What documents do I need for Croatia?
A valid passport or some other identification document recognized by the international agreement is required. A personal identity card is sufficient for some countries. More information on: www.mvpei.hr
9. Are there parking spaces in Croatian marinas?
Most marinas provide enough parking places with an extra charge (aprox. € 50 per week).
